Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Auc Store collects, why, who can see it and the choices you have. Auc Store is run by Auc Smart Services Pvt Ltd, 604, Radha Palace, 2nd Floor, Rajpur Road, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. We are the Data Fiduciary for your data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, and your mobile number if you add one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, verified email address and profile photo from Google. You can upload your own profile photo or remove it at any time in Account.
- What you post: requirements, service requests, photos and documents you upload, messages with stores and AUC support, reviews and ratings, and questions and answers you post in the Community.
- Addresses and location: delivery and service addresses, PIN codes, and a map location if you choose to set one. The app reads your phone's location only when you tap to use it.
- Orders and payments: orders, invoices, warranties, refunds and payment records. For online payments we receive the payment reference, amount, status and method type (for example UPI or card) from Razorpay. If you pay to Auc Store's UPI ID, we keep the UPI transaction ID you send so we can find the payment. We never receive your card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
- Your devices: devices you add to "My Devices", with the warranty and service dates you enter.
- Help chat: the questions you type to the AUC Assistant and, if you ask for a person, the conversation you hand over to AUC support.
- Sellers: business details, GST number, identity and business documents for verification, and store information you publish.
- Security records: sign-in times, IP address, browser or app version, and a log of important account actions, kept to protect accounts and prevent fraud.
- Problem reports: when something fails in the app or on the website (for example a request that could not be saved, or a screen that stopped working), the screen, the error, the app version and a random install code — never your messages, email address or phone number. Kept for 30 days to find and fix problems.
- "Report a problem": when you send one, what you write, any screenshots you add, and — unless you switch it off — the page you were on, the error shown, recent errors, the app version and your phone or browser type. It goes to the Auc Store support team (and to our support email); signed in, it is kept as a support ticket so we can reply. Choose screenshots without other people's personal details.
2. Why we use it
- to run your account and sign you in securely;
- to send your requests to suitable nearby stores and show you their offers and estimates;
- to process orders, deliveries, payments, refunds, invoices and warranty claims;
- to verify sellers and keep the marketplace safe from fraud and misuse;
- to send updates about your orders and requests, and the daily thought or offers you choose to receive (you can change this in Notification preferences);
- to answer your support requests and resolve disputes;
- to meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
We use your data only for these purposes. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
3. Who can see your data
- Stores and providers: before you choose one, they see only your first name, your area or PIN code and the details of your request. The store or provider you choose (or order from) receives your name, phone number and address so they can complete the order or job.
- Other users: store pages are public. Your reviews and Community posts show your first name and profile photo (stores show their store name). Auc Store also shows recent activity such as "Laptop repair completed · In Rajpur Road · by [store]" — without your name or contact details.
- AUC staff: only the staff who need it for support, verification, payments or safety, with access controlled by role.
- Service providers that help us run Auc Store: Razorpay (payments), Google (only if you choose Google sign-in), Hostinger (our servers in India and email delivery), Google Maps Platform (to turn a map location into an address, and to search places and addresses you type), OpenAI and Google Cloud Vision (to automatically check uploaded pictures and Community text for adult, violent, hateful or self-harm content — public pictures or posts they flag wait for an Auc Store check, and pictures Auc Store refuses are deleted; Google Cloud Vision also reads text in pictures sent in developer project chats, to spot shared contact details), OpenStreetMap (map images loaded by your device) and, only if you allow notifications, your phone's or browser's push service (Google for Android and Chrome, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for iPhone) to deliver them. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities: when the law requires it, for example a valid request from a court or government agency.
App permissions (Android)
The Android app asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it, and you can say no or turn it off later in your phone's settings:
- Location (while using the app): to find stores near you and fill in your address when you tap "Use my location". We do not track your location in the background.
- Camera: to take photos for a request and, for stores, to scan product barcodes.
- Photos: to attach pictures you choose, and to save Auc Store pictures (such as quote cards) to your gallery. We do not read the rest of your gallery.
- Notifications: to tell you about offers, orders, repairs, replies and AUC announcements.
Browser notifications (website): the website asks only when you tap "Allow notifications". If you allow them, we keep your browser's push address and encryption keys with your account so we can send the notification; the message itself is encrypted on the way. Signing out stops them on that browser, and you can block them any time in your browser's site settings.
- Internet: to connect to Auc Store.
Data safety summary
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.
- Data shared with others is limited to what is described in section 3, to provide the service you asked for.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see section 6 and the Account Deletion page).
4. How we protect it
Your data is stored on servers in India and always travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Uploaded files are private and opened through short-lived links only by people allowed to see them. Staff access to the admin panel requires two-step verification, and important actions are logged. Backups are encrypted at rest on the server and kept for 14 days.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, your name, phone number, email, addresses and notifications are removed. Orders, invoices, payments and other financial records are kept in anonymised form for as long as Indian tax and company law requires. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
6. Your rights
You can:
- see and correct your details in the app (Account), or ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you;
- withdraw consent to optional messages at any time in Notification preferences;
- delete your account from Account → Help & support → Delete my account (or search "delete account");
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or cannot act;
- complain to our Grievance Officer (below) and, if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
To make a request, email support@aucstore.in. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
7. Cookies and browser storage
The website uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember simple preferences, such as whether you have seen the app download message. A short-lived cookie protects Google sign-in from misuse. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children
Auc Store is meant for adults. Anyone under 18 should use it only with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for that use.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and tell you about important changes in the app or by email.
